Electric Treadmills: The Ultimate Workout Machine

For anyone who needs to lose weight and feel better all over, walking on an electric treadmill is probably the best exercise there is. Of course if you have knee problems or have been advised by a doctor not to walk, then don't. Otherwise, get going!

Walking at the right pace will burn fat faster than just about any other exercise because it is aerobic. When you are exercising aerobically, your body burns fat instead of sugar in order to fuel the energy consumption. Using an electric treadmill allows you to set the pace at which you will walk, and then you don't have to think about it. You won't walk too slow (guaranteed!) and you won't walk too fast either. You'll get the right fat-burning workout every time.

If you don't have time to go to a gym for your daily workout, electric treadmills are easily purchased for your home, where you can exercise whenever it's convenient and while wearing whatever you want. No need to be self-conscious in your own living room! The wide variety of home electric treadmills can be confusing, so you would be well-advised to spend some time researching the options before plunking down the cash for your new toy. Some good sites to check out are the Electric Treadmill Place and the ProForm Treadmill Site.

Depending on your budget, you can really spend a lot of money on bells and whistles for your new electric treadmill, but really the only fancy gadget that is absolutely necessary is a way to set the speed. Everything else can be accomplished with cheaper options such as a pedometer ($10) to tell you how far you've walked. You can even make up your own exercise routines by recording a CD to play while you're walking. You choose songs you like that are at various tempos, then arrange them in between recordings of your voice telling you what speed to change the treadmill to. Voila! You're all set with a custom exercise routine.
