Honey would you please

stop by the grocery store

and pick me up a few items?

I would so appreciate it.

I need some fresh fruit:

juicy, sweet, delicious

red ripe strawberries;

luscious melons, full and heavy;

bananas with their sleek skin

peeling back to reveal the meaty flesh.

I'm yearning for a cucumber,

long, thick and firm;

Pick one that you think I'll like.

And pause beside the flower case —

the roses are so nice,

their petals silky smooth and

glistening with little water drops of love;

select the one you like the best

and lay it in the cart beside

the lonely, crisp cucumber.

Then push on over to the dairy aisle

and find the cream

heavy, sweet and perfect

for an afternoon's delight.

That's all I need,

now hurry home,

I'm waiting here for you.
