When taking a Caribbean vacation, a guide to the best places to visit can avoid losing precious time searching for a good entertainment or dining spot. The following is a list of the top five places to see or visit while on your wonderful island vacation.
1. DUNNS RIVER FALLS
Dunns River Falls is a famous cascade of water that attracts thousands of tourists and locals each year. With it's 600 feet of climbing fun, this has been called Jamaica's most beautiful and popular sightseeing attraction. This is an absolutely terrific spot to take photos, and many Negril resorts offer shuttle transportation to and from the falls.
2. 56 HOPE ROAD
56 Hope Road, Kingston 6 is The Bob Marley Museum and was his home before his tragic death in 1981. The museum is dedicated to his memory and tradition of reggae music. It is the founding place for Tuff Gong Records, the former record label of The Wailers. The house is also the site of the assassination attempt of Marley in 1976.
4. GRACE’S COTTAGE
Turks and Caicos’ Grace’s Cottage offers seating for 62 in this elegant gourmet restaurant on Point Grace. The ethnically infused cuisine is delicious with strong Caribbean bases and the ambiance of the setting is remarkable.
3. RICK’S CAFÉ
On the rock cliffs of the beach, one of the best Negril restaurants is Rick’s café. It has been a tourist and local hotspot for quite a while. With its cliff jumping and wonderful food selections, Rick’s can be a great place to enjoy the sun and water, and then get a bite to eat. The world famous sunsets are a sight to behold and after the sun has gone into the sea, Rick’s becomes a wonderfully wet and wild nightclub.
5. CORAL WORLD
This St. Thomas ocean park is a great family vacation activity. It features 21 marine gardens and a touch pool that will allow you to get very personal with some of the sea's beautiful and hard to otherwise see marine life. The underwater observatory is 100 feet offshore and one-of-a-kind among the islands. Strolling through the Caribbean Reef Encounter that grows in an 80,000 gallon tank may not be enough, so opt for the Underwater Sea Trek, where you actually walk through the reef instead of looking through a glass. The Shark Shallows, Stingray Lagoon, and Turtle Pool and Critter Corners are a few more of Coral World's experiences to enjoy. Coral World has scheduled feedings and showtimes, as well as dining and shopping for your pleasure.
